About the Role

As a Cloud Infrastructure Architect, you will play a central role in delivering a "Cloud First" yet "Cloud Smart" approach, designing and implementing secure, scalable, and sustainable hybrid solutions that integrate on-premise systems with modern SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS platforms.
You’ll collaborate with colleagues across IT and the wider university to shape infrastructure roadmaps, embed security by design, and guide migration projects. The role offers the opportunity to influence campus-wide smart infrastructure and automation, leaving a lasting mark on a digitally ambitious institution.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the design and optimisation of hybrid infrastructure platforms.

About You
You will bring substantial experience designing and delivering hybrid cloud infrastructure, ideally in complex or regulated environments. You’ll have proven expertise in integrating on-premise and cloud technologies, with knowledge across:
• Virtualisation, containerisation, and serverless computing
• Storage architecture and cloud governance
• Security frameworks, risk management, and compliance

Strong communication skills are essential, enabling you to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences. Industry certifications (e.g., Azure, AWS, TOGAF, VMware, Kubernetes) are highly desirable, as is a collaborative and innovative mindset.
