Post Title: Finance Assistant
Main Purpose of the Job
To carry out a broad range of finance duties, including recording income and expenditure, producing bank reconciliations, and maintaining the Fixed Asset Register. The post holder will comply with all Financial Regulations and Procedures and ensure confidentiality of information at all times.
Main Responsibilities
Undertake general finance duties, including data input, producing analysis and ad hoc reports using Microsoft Excel, and other tasks as required.
Import payment files and record credit card income daily, ensuring compliance with PCI DSS regulations.
Post all income and expenditure to the cashbook daily and produce a full bank reconciliation weekly.
Maintain the Fixed Asset Register, including processing additions and disposals, and carrying out inventory/asset checks.
Prepare weekly payment runs and upload BACS files to the banking system, verifying payments in line with organisational Financial Procedures and confirming accurate VAT treatment.
Support month-end tasks, including calculating prepayments and accruals, posting journals, and providing ad hoc analysis.
Assist in collating information required by external stakeholders, including auditors and funding bodies.
Maintain appropriate financial records, including reconciliation of funding received and disbursed, and produce analysis of miscellaneous income and grant funding.
Assist in collating data for the organisation’s annual Financial Statements.
Other Responsibilities

Adhere to and support implementation of Health and Safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and codes of practice.
Carry out any other duties commensurate with the grade and responsibilities of the role as required.

Qualifications

GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics at grade C/4 or above Essential Application / Interview
AAT Level 4, or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) Essential Application / Interview
